But isn't it the direct purpose of the literature to teach and affect us? As role models or bad examples or just a mental stimulation? On the other hand, I also agree to keep the two worlds apart. Otherwise the intended meaning of fandom obsession as an escapism would be totally undermined ;) The most part of my RL acquaintances and my family do know about my obsessions and even share it (like: Sherlock Holmes, Jeeves & Wooster and of cause - Tintin) but always only to a certain degree and not that much... intense. (I personally find the position a bit straining - I have tried it out as well after seeing him! ;) - but it's so much better than all the superheroes firing poses x_x" Also, I'm deeply in love with how focussed he looks in those moments. And let admit it - professionalism is sexy :D)
The scarf looks great! The bright colour and the catching, complicated patters make such a pretty contrast to the plain, darkish clothing. A splash of yellows heels goes just awesome with that outfit – you are very fashionable young lady! By the way - now that you mention it, I can read the 1939 in the middle part. I've only been to the Expo in Hanover - which was probably nothing the same - but I bet the Fair in New York was absolutely fascinating. Gosh, sometimes I wish for a time machine so desperately. Even if it will mark the end of the humanity >D
The Slam was really nice – among other, more 'serious' topics there was also a funny discussion about fandoms and how addictive it is. Later on, I'll make sure to report more about how they diagnosed us with 4 symptoms of 'lust' ;) (just .. not this week, things are a bit complicated right now. The Venus transition is to blame. Definitive.)
