[spin frustrated fashion entry]
Generally speaking, a frustrated spin glass is a disordered magnet system with conflicting interactions between the spins. Diverse forces prevent the spin glass from reaching the energetic minimum (which is the longed-for destination of all systems) - thus, making the system frustrated.
Applying the phenomena to one certain
lokuro-particle, one might observe a disturbing amount on fidgetiness. The inability to relax and therefor to function properly. When I'm at work, I keep on thinking about Tintin, comparing the Captain to Bertie Wooster and dream up some weird fanfiction plots.
When at home I'm unable to shoot the university stuff down (and thus, making my fandom-related posts absolutely unreadable).
The upcoming presentation I have to prepare for the next Friday isn't that comforting either. I still don't fully grasp the subject, which makes it a bit difficult to speak about it (in English!) for full 40 minutes. Plus, 20 minutes discussion afterwards.
"Most disturbing, Sir."
So, I'm trying to bring peace to my inner tumour by the good old methods... no, the 81% chocolate with chili isn't working anymore: it's the air-gun shooting :)
It's been years since I've been to my club (well, to be precise: half a year) and the established clientèle certainly isn't getting any younger (with an average member being about twice my age). But somehow I find all these nice grannies and respectable old-fashioned gents adorable.
As for the shooting itself. Gosh, I've been missing the soothing feeling ♥
Don't get any wrong ideas but it's the most calming sport I know. And I've been into a lot of... well, martial arts :) Now, I'm almost ready for that nasty presentation next week. Almost.

Another way too calm the spirits down are fashion posts. It's raining, so I'll try to be as colourful as my camera and the GIMP program allowed. Welcome to the Haddock!ascot inspiredneck porn session ;)
One take a normal navy-blue shirt. The sleeves rolled up, the neck exposed.
(Yes, it's supposed to be wrinkled. It's silk, okay? I just don't trust myself anywhere near it with an iron.)

Um. Perhaps not exactly my best shoot - the worn out home-wear trousers kind of destroys the whole atmosphere of deluxe and fashion.

Oh, that one is much nicer, thank you, dear cam.
Now for the different neck wear :)

(here is the larger version)
I especially like the third one - it's such a lovely contrast :)

And while we are at it - two more scarfs. This times it's no comic related whatsoever, I'm just a huge scarf-fan. The first one was a present from my Mum and the second is a self-made from my best friend.

Do you have any fancy neck wear? Ties, scarfs, different patterns and styles? Feel free to pack it all in the comments ;)
Also, since it's summer and a part of my f-list is already posting amazing dresses... My tribute to the summer feeling. And in fact, the one and only dress which still fits me. Sadly :( Oh, and please, just ignore the mess in the background, the photo is from the last week and I was tiding up while the dress-topic arose in their comments :)

A colourful weekend, ahoy!
PS.: The Tintin-vid is now download-able (last entry) since it's blocked in Germany and I can't see it anymore, which is kind of annoying. I know it's not that good but I'd like to decide it myself and not via youtube jury.

Your pictures are lovely! I adore the way a scarf can lead the eye into the opening of a shirt. It's very sexual, but without the vulgarity of showing skin.
I'll look for some pictures of some of my scarves when I get back from brunch. :)

Guns does have quite an evil image but I don't think it qualifies you as a violent person just if you're good at it. Quite on the contrary, actually. It's as you said - really relaxing, and someone who had achieved the inner balance is less likely to start a fight :)
In fact, the most gentle and peaceful person I know, was my former karate-teacher ;)
(What would your friends say to Tintin being somewhat a pacifist and still amazingly good with guns? Or does a fictional character not count?)
I've had a go at archery just once, but it was a very nice experience! My best friend is very skilful at it and she is currently trying to convince me to learn more (if only the course wouldn't overlap with my lectures ._.)
Thank you :)
Nowadays the science of a tasteful flirting seems to have faded into obscurity... Not completely forgotten but almost.
Extended Saturday brunches are lovely~ Enjoy your meal!
Over here it's a bit late for any kind of lunch but this evening is Science Slam, so I'll be off for quite a while now, cheering up my favourites ;)

This is the scarf I wore to brunch this morning:
It's from the 1939 New York World's Fair which is a historical event that I used to be obsessed with. It's hard to see in the picture, but the scarf says 1939 (backwards because of the mirror) and shows the Trylon and the Perisphere. Not pictured are my bright yellow heels which totally make the outfit.
I hope you are enjoying Science Slam!

On the other hand, I also agree to keep the two worlds apart. Otherwise the intended meaning of fandom obsession as an escapism would be totally undermined ;) The most part of my RL acquaintances and my family do know about my obsessions and even share it (like: Sherlock Holmes, Jeeves & Wooster and of cause - Tintin) but always only to a certain degree and not that much... intense.
(I personally find the position a bit straining - I have tried it out as well after seeing him! ;) - but it's so much better than all the superheroes firing poses x_x" Also, I'm deeply in love with how focussed he looks in those moments. And let admit it - professionalism is sexy :D)
The scarf looks great! The bright colour and the catching, complicated patters make such a pretty contrast to the plain, darkish clothing. A splash of yellows heels goes just awesome with that outfit – you are very fashionable young lady!
By the way - now that you mention it, I can read the 1939 in the middle part. I've only been to the Expo in Hanover - which was probably nothing the same - but I bet the Fair in New York was absolutely fascinating. Gosh, sometimes I wish for a time machine so desperately. Even if it will mark the end of the humanity >D
The Slam was really nice – among other, more 'serious' topics there was also a funny discussion about fandoms and how addictive it is. Later on, I'll make sure to report more about how they diagnosed us with 4 symptoms of 'lust' ;)
(just .. not this week, things are a bit complicated right now. The Venus transition is to blame. Definitive.)

Yes! Professionalism and competence is pretty much the sexiest thing there is.
you are very fashionable young lady!
It is nice of you to say so. I never used to care about clothes or fashion at all, so it always surprises me to hear myself described that way.

(though, I sometimes think that comparing to some other people my hobbies certainly aren't the most weird ones.)
Professionalism and competence is pretty much the sexiest thing there is.
So true! Which once again verify that our brains are the most erogenous zone ;)
You don't have to constantly check on all the fashion magazines to develop a fashion taste. In fact, I think it might be better for your style if you don't. As an artist you just have that certain hunch of what will look good on you?
Also, it helps having such an amazing figure ;)
