You are right! Seems like Hemingway are quoting "Meditation XVII" by John Donne. The title get stuck in my head, so I refrain from former research. Thanks for pointing that out!
P.S.: Today I correct the false assumption by basic googling, but I guess, I should pay "Hemingway's" a visit. It's a small bar and the cocktails aren't that tasty but every customer gets a H.'s novel of choice for the duration of the visit ;)
